As we celebrate all the weird and wonderful things our youngsters get up to on this World Children’s Day, our thoughts are with the 5,500 children whose lives have been taken in the most horrific ways.

This week, in true Penny Appeal style, we were thrilled to welcome the post-16 students from Highfield School to our orange home as part of their Inter Faith Week learning.

In the heart of Bradford, a city renowned for its culture, diversity and resilience, Penny Appeal are feeding the homeless and vulnerable, one hot meal at a time.

Remembrance Sunday is a poignant occasion in which we honour the memory of those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. As we reflect on the immeasurable sacrifices made by brave men and women, it is crucial to recognise the diverse contributions of individuals from all walks of life, including the often-overlooked role of Muslims in the British Armed Forces during the World Wars.

In a bid to foster a more inclusive and empowering environment for women here at Penny Appeal and across the wider charity sector, our CEO, Ridwana Wallace-Laher, attended a Women in the Charity Sector Report launch event organised by Pro Bono Economics.
