Honouring the Women of Palestine this International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, we are honouring and standing in solidarity with the strong, resilient, and courageous women who are facing unimaginable hardships in Gaza. While we also uplift the women in our own lives, let us dedicate this day to our sisters in Palestine. Despite the horrifying challenges they’re facing, they remain resolute, acting as a source of inspiration to all those around them. May Allah (SWT) continue to give them the strength and patience they need during this truly heartbreaking time, and may He have mercy on all the sisters who are no longer with us – Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Illahi Rajioon. 

While the global community has failed to keep them safe, the women of Palestine find strength in each other's support. Many are grieving their children, their husbands, and the lives they were once able to enjoy with hope and aspiration. While the world may have overlooked their plight, organisations like Penny Appeal have stepped up to provide vital assistance and support, ensuring that these women are not alone in their struggles.

The female journalists of Gaza have played a pivotal role in shedding light on the devastation in the enclave. Amid catastrophe, pain and personal suffering, they continue to show the world just how horrific the situation is on the ground, and how critical the need for aid remains, risking their lives in the process. 

So, this International Women’s Day, we urge you to join us in honouring the women of Palestine and keeping them in our duas and prayers. Today is for them.
