It only took a few minutes for the explosion in Beirut on the 4th August 2020 to destroy large portions of the city and cause mass devastation, but the people of Lebanon have been experiencing hardship and neglect for years before this tragedy occurred.
I am deeply pained at the reports about the operations that Penny Appeal supports in The Gambia. These violate our most fundamental values as a charity that exists to better the lives of children.
On 13th August 2020 Penny Appeal became aware of an alleged safeguarding issue in The Gambia supported by our partner organisation, Penny Appeal Gambia.
