Amna’s Story - Light in the Shadows of Struggle
Amna Al-Ghoul, a 31-year-old mother of six, was forced to flee her home in Gaza with her children, carrying only a few belongings. They arrived in Al-Zawayda living in a fragile, unsafe tent with no protection from the heat, cold, or insects. With her husband injured and her youngest born prematurely, the family has no source of income and depends entirely on aid for food, clean water, and basic necessities. “We have nothing - no food, no medicine, no income. I try to stay strong for my children, but every day feels harder than the one before,” Amna shared.
Through Penny Appeal, Amna’s family received purified drinking water giving them safety and peace of mind amid their daily struggles. “It gave us hope and reminded us that people still care for us,” she said.
Today, Amna and her children still face hunger, cold, and illness, needing food, infant milk, diapers, blankets, warm clothes, and medicine.
