Qurbani India: Mrs Choudry's story

Your donation of Qurbani meat can make a huge difference to countless numbers of lives in impoverished communities. This was the case for Mrs Choudry, whose Eid-ul-Adha was completely changed by your Qurbani donations.

"You cannot imagine the joy that you have bestowed on us.” – Mrs Choudry

We have been hard at work all across India to provide millions with good quality food, who would otherwise not be able to afford to celebrate this most joyous occasion and be forced to go hungry. Almost 1 million people were provided with Qurbani, especially underprivileged and marginalized families, including women, children, elderly and the sick.

One such impoverished family was the household of a woman called Mrs Choudry, from the Bihar region of India. In previous years, her family did not know the warm nourishing feeling of meat at Eid-ul-Adha, and instead were forced to spend the day hungry and afraid for the future.

Now with our distribution and your support, her family have been gifted the opportunity to enjoy Eid-ul-Adha, by being together and enjoying warm and nutritious meals. She said: “Thank you Penny Appeal for bringing so much happiness to me and my family. We are truly blessed and have enjoyed Eid ul Adha so much this year since last year, [where] we struggled so much. You cannot imagine the joy that you have bestowed on us.”

Like Mrs Choudry, there are thousands of people who have benefitted from the Qurbani Project. Their stories are unique and touching, and always wrapped in pure gratefulness.

Give your Qurbani in India in 2021, and help continue to bring joy back to Eid for families like the Choudrys!
