Our CEO Live from the Field: Witnessing Your Qurbani's Transformative Impact
Assalamu Alaikum and Eid Mubarak from India!
My heart is bursting with gratitude as I share with you this first-hand account from the heartlands of India, where our dedicatePenny Appeal teams and local partners work are working tirelessly to distribute your generous Qurbani donations.
This journey has been one of profound humility and awe-inspiring hope. The warmth and hospitality I received, the spirit of kindness and generosity, the bright-eyed hope in the faces of children and elders - these experiences have all touched me profoundly.
Nutritious and Delicious!
Navigating our way through remote, trulhard-to-reach communities, we journeyed for hours to deliver bags and boxes of freshly-sacrificed nutrient-dense meat. Observing the meticulous distribution process in the bustling communal spaces of remote masjids and madrasas was heartwarming; as was witnessing the joy and anticipation of families receiving this precious gift. For so many, this is the only time of year they eat meat, a fact that left me lost for words considering what life is like for us in the UK.
The kindness and resilience of the locals left a deep imprint on my heart. Their smiles, their generosity in offering us food and drinks, despite their own limited resources, served as a powerful reminder of our shared humanity.
It was especially great for me to see how so many small, family-run farms are supported through your donations, making your Qurbani donations part of a sacred loop of sustainably for local communities.
The farmers, with their humble homes and welcoming hearts, offered us a glimpse into their lives - their kitchen, their living spaces, their family dynamics. Their generosity in wanting to feed us, despite having so little, was incredibly touching. It was a poignant reminder of the difference your donations are making in these people's lives.
It’s still not too late… Give a Prophetic Qurbani!
Today, I am thankful for the opportunity to witness the profound impact of your generosity firsthand, and it is a sacred trust that I carry and share these moments of reflection with with you. I can't help but compare how differently I would usually be spending this day. Instead of celebrating Eid with a feast at home, I'm here witnessing the real-life transformation of your kindness towards truly vulnerable communities.
There is still so much to be done. It's not too late to give additional Qurbani. Each and every donation is the small change that makes a BIG difference. Your kindness is their lifelines - give today and give some more: https://www.justgiving.com/page/ceoridwanaqurbani2023
Thank you for being part of this journey, and for your continued generosity and support. I can’t wait to be sharing more experiences with you soon
