Eid-ul-Adha: A Time to Celebrate and Give Back
Eid Mubarak, everyone!
On this blessed day, we give thanks to Allah (SWT) for His countless blessings. We pray your faith is made firm as you feast with family and friends, and that our Merciful Creator accepts all your good deeds and blesses you and your loved ones with the best of this world and the next! Ameen.
Eid-ul-Adha is a unique and sacred celebration. It honours the devotion that Prophet Ibrahim (AS) showed to Allah (SWT) on top of Mount Arafat, by willingly offering to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) – before Allah (SWT) instead presented a ram for sacrificing, proclaiming “O Abraham! You have already fulfilled the vision.” [Qur’an 37:102]
Eid-ul-Adha is a time for Muslims around the world to commemorate Ibrahim's act of submission to Allah (SWT). But it is also a time for celebration and giving back. This year, why not celebrate by changing the lives of those who are less fortunate? In addition to celebrating with your loved ones, consider donating to a charitable cause and helping those who are in need!
It’s not too late to give Qurbani!
The act of Qurbani is a symbol of our willingness to make sacrifices in obedience to Allah (SWT). Over the blessed days of Eid, Muslims are required to offer their Qurbani sacrifices to Allah (SWT) and distribute the meat to the poor and disadvantaged in our Ummah. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (as). For every hair of the Qurbani, you receive a reward from Allah (SWT).” [Tirmhidi]
In these sacred days of sacrifice, make your Qurbani count by giving up a little more of what Allah (SWT) has blessed you with, to help those who need us most! Last year, with your support, Penny Appeal delivered nutritious meals to more than one million people around the world, and this year we’re planning on breaking that record! So please, give Qurbani today and help us make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Other ways to make a difference
Of course, our work doesn’t stop with Qurbani! There are so many people in this world who are struggling, and they need your help!
Why not increase your blessings by sponsoring an orphan, donating a meal a day for a full year, or building a well in the name of a loved one? Every penny goes a long way to create lasting change for communities in need.
This Eid, let's come together and make a big difference in the lives of others. Your generosity can help improve our world for everyone. So please, consider giving generously this Eid ul-Adha!
