Penny Appeal has successfully achieved another world’s first!

The World’s first UK Nasheed Muslim musical made its debut tour with sold-out shows in Birmingham, Manchester, and London this last weekend.
The event was a great night of fun for all the family, with it’s gripping storyline and catchy classic hit songs that everyone could sing along to!
The play was both thought-provoking and entertaining, by taking serious issues such as technology, economic class, religion, family and friendship and portraying them through the uplifting format that a musical brings.

Anisah Ahmed from Manchester attended the final showing of the play with her friends. She loved the show and said: “It was absolutely amazing! The show was so fun, a brilliant experience. If you missed it this year, I really recommend you look out for it next year and book your tickets way in advance!”

All for a good cause

All proceeds from the event are going towards supporting people in need through Penny Appeal’s Mosque Project, and our Hifz Orphans Programme, and thanks to the generous support of those who attended the event, these projects will provide brighter futures for hundreds of people.

Through your generous support at our events, we raised enough funds to build three new mosques in deprived communities, and contributions towards a fourth. Hundreds of people will benefit from these mosques.
Our Mosque Project helps build mosques in some of the world’s poorest communities, who don’t have a dedicated place for worship and prayers. Mosques help provide communities with an identity, a sense of belonging and provide a space for people to pray, connect with God and each other, to hold weddings and funerals, as well as providing a space for children to learn about Islam and study the Quran.

Almost 100 orphan children will be enrolled onto our Hifz Orphan programme, thanks to your kind donations.

Our Hifz Orphan programme provides orphan children with a safe and loving environment away from the challenges of losing a parent, and gives them the gift of the Holy Qur’an. Our programme is designed to provide the perfect conditions for memorising Allah’s holy book, but also care for the child in all aspects of their lives and help them break the cycles of poverty they may be trapped in, and build brighter futures.
The event was enjoyed by everyone who attended, with all ages and backgrounds of people joining in with singing. The musical was so popular that we’ll be bringing it back next year! So don’t worry if you missed out on your chance to be part of this fantastic fun-filled evening this year!
