What should I expect when in the field?

A typical day in the field may include travelling in the morning by coach to a location 60 minutes away from the accommodation and visiting different camps throughout the day. It can be tough and takes a great amount of resilience. You’ll meet many people on the trip who are all working together to serve our brothers and sisters.

The clothes you need will depend on the location and time of year that you travel. You will be provided with a full briefing on which clothing you should pack before you are deployed.

What support will I get when dealing with sensitive issues while on deployment?

We will have ‘Follow your Penny’ reflections every evening for people to discuss their experiences. If any serious issues arise, we will refer you to our local UK penny Appeal teams.
