What are the terms and conditions for challenge participants?
Fundraising
By signing up, you are committing to raising a minimum of required funds pertaining to the challenge towards Penny Appeal'campaign. At least 80% of the minimum fundraising must be raised by the deadlines set for each deadline. These deadlines vary from 2/3 months for major events, and 2 weeks for small fundraising event.
You are required to fundraise for the charity cause before, during and after the challenge has been completed to ensure you hit your target. The sooner you raise your funds, the more time you have to exceed your target!
Penny Appeal has a right to cancel places for anyone who does not meet the fundraising requirement.
Promoting your challenge
To help you reach your fundraising goal, you should actively be sharing your preparation for the challenge, the cause you are raising funds for and any exciting details that will help you promote your challenge and secure funds for the charity cause.
Branded attire
All participants are required to wear Penny Appeal branded attire that is visible when taking on their challenge.
Transport
Penny Appeal does not provide transportation to the event location - participants are required to make their own travel arrangements.
Tickets and cancellations
Please note registration fees and any tickets purchased are non-refundable.
How do I apply for a place on the London Marathon?
Our London Marathon charity places are allocated via a shortlisting process. You must complete aapplication through our London Marathon webpage https://pennyappeal.org/event/londonmarathon. Should your application bsuccessful, Penny Appeal will contact you to formally offer a place by whicyou will have a week to claim this offer. London Marathon places are heavily saught after, and fundraising for this event should be taken seriously to avoid risk losing your place.
What happens if don't reach my fundraising target?
Many of our fundraisers have this fear and hesitation, and we always encourage them to start as early as possible. Our fundraisers are usually very surprised how well they achieve when they go above and beyond. Fundraising requires effort and we will provide you some fundraising tips and ideas to get your started. We're able to provide some flexibility with our deadlines so long as we see our fundraisers trying to reach their target. Challengers who make no fundraising effort after registration will risk losing their place.
I no longer want attend thevent, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately there are no refunds once your application has been processed. If you wish to discuss options to transfer to an alternative event or postponed your challenge to a future event, please get in touch with the challenge events coordinator.
