Zaida's Dream

How will Zaida help Palestine?

Zaida is raising funds to bring more facilities and positive changes to her community in Palestine. Through her fundraising with Penny Appeal, we will help her community with water, food, education facilities and community centres.

Zaida is driven by the hardships that Palestinian children face on a daily basis. She believes no child should have to struggle in the way the children living in refugee camps do, and so she is hiking to make a difference. She is hopeful that by raising funds for Penny Appeal, her community will grow and change for the better in terms of water, education facilities, community centres and food provision.

Zaida's hike in Numbers

  • £500 could provide 100 families with a food pack.
  • £5000 could also help build a water tanker which will provide my community with safe and clean drinking water
  • If we raise £20000 we could give my widowed neighbours livelihood programmes and a long term source of food through kitchen gardening and allotments. We will eat fresh fruit and vegetables regularly.

Zaida's Life

Zaida is full of life and hopeful, despite the harsh challenges she faces every day in Palestine. She has witnessed tear gas attacks on children, and a wall that separates her from the rest of her country. She keeps her spirits high by playing football with her friends, and taking part in her favourite activity of all: Dabka, which is traditional Palestinian dancing. It makes her feel alive, connected to her roots and to her community, and above all it makes her feel happy and at peace.
