Community Kitchen Food Truck
Introducing Penny Appeal's Community Kitchen Food Truck – a vehicle of hope and sustenance for vulnerable communities across the UK. In these challenging times, the Community Kitchen Food Truck is making a significant impact by delivering nutritious hot meals, food parcels, and care packages to low-income families and the elderly.
Serving Those in Need
In the face of rising energy bills and financial strain, many elderly individuals and low-income families in the UK are confronted with an agonizing choice – to keep their homes warm or to have a meal on their plates. Penny Appeal recognizes this dilemma and is dedicated to making a difference. Our Community Kitchen Food Truck, staffed by dedicated volunteers, is the embodiment of this commitment.
A Mobile Kitchen on a Mission
The Community Kitchen Food Truck is not just an ordinary food truck; it's a mobile lifeline for the most vulnerable in our society. We collaborate with local organisations across the UK, strategically targeting areas with the greatest need. Through this mobile kitchen, we distribute thousands of food parcels and essential items, providing immediate relief to those who need it most.
City Serve | Food Distributions with Bradford City AFC and Bradford City Community Foundation
As the nights draw earlier, and the cold winds fly around the streets of Britain, we are have adapted our Thursday feeds in Bradford to suit all those in need of food parcels and hot, fresh meals.
For the homeless and the low-income families, who may struggle to afford heating or blankets, we ensure that, every week, we are able to supply a non-perishable food items as well as freshly-made curry, completely for free.
Whereas previously we were parked outside the City Hub, which is the home of Bradford City's charitable arm - the Community Foundation, we are now located closer to the city centre on Manor Row, allowing us to reach more people in need, and not expecting the vulnerable to travel further.
We have also added hot drinks to our Community Kitchen menu to add that extra bit of warmth during the freezing-cold winter nights. The Community Foundation, who offer out vital food parcels packed with sustainable household staples like cereal and juice, have moved their collection times earlier to 1.30-4.30pm. This relieves that extra burden of travelling to the outskirts of the city late at night.
A massive thank-you goes to Bradford City and the Community Foundation for their help in being able to fulfil our promise of making a big difference to beneficiaries across the UK.
We are also delighted to be working with delicious food outlets MyLahore and Aziz Catering, who turn stomach-filling food into smiles. We are always grateful with the help from Team Orange and donors who give up their evenings to help out in the food truck, hand out food parcels and add to the food distribution every week!
