Traditional Zakat Cash Sponsorships
Change Lives with a Cash Zakat Charity Donation
You know that when you give your Zakat charity donation with Penny Appeal that 100% of every penny you give goes directly to those who the Qur’an mentions are eligible to receive it. Penny Appeal has many Zakat applicable appeals that you can choose to donate towards, including Feed Our World, Thirst Relief, Emergency Response, Open Your Eyes, Adopt a Gran and more. But did you know that you could follow in the Prophets (ﷺ) footsteps this year and give your Zakat directly to the poor?
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his followers were incredibly generous when it came to giving sadaqah, and often gave directly to this in need. You can now do the same with our innovative cash Zakat charity donations. Zakat cash sponsorships provide every penny of your Zakat to someone who is in need and eligible to receive it!
This Ramadan, we will be distributing Zakat cash sponsorships to refugees, internally displaced people and communities that are rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of disaster. The poor and needy throughout Mozambique, Uganda, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Somaliland and Yemen will be benefiting from your generosity this year if you choose to give your Zakat charity donation with Penny Appeal in the form of a cash.

“I really want to thank United Purpose and Penny Appeal for your help. I never dreamed of having 35,000 meticais (£350 GBP) in my life.” Sonia says, “If I didn't have financial management training with United Purpose, I wouldn't even be able to manage this money. I will invest in my business of selling vegetables in local market to provide for my family. Thank you very much!”
Isaura
Isaura is 46 years old, and is a single mother of 6 children. She lives in Lichinga with her family and often struggles to look after everyone. She sells vegetables in the city to make ends meet but with 4 of her children in school and two little ones to look after, money is tight. But Cash Zakat donations helped support her family last year, alhamdulillah!
Isaura said, “I sell tomatoes and onions for my family's livelihood. With this value of 35 000, 00 Meticais I will start to buy corn to resell. Also this amount will help me with the expenses of home and school fees for my children.
When I was included in the list of beneficiaries, I did not believe that I would receive this amount. When I received it, I thanked God as this action can only be the work of God. For me the most important is that my children will be able to study with this help. Thank you very much.”
