Say Salaam to Penny the Prayer Bear!
To celebrate 10 Amazing Years of spreading smiles with Penny Appeal, we’ve teamed up with Desi Dolls to share some joy through learning and fun!
Say Salaam to Penny the Prayer Bear – a cute, cuddly and totally ground-breaking teddy bear.
If you’ve got kids, you’ll know how hard it can be to teach them not only how to actually go through all the positions and pray Salah, but also how to find the joy, meaning and peace in doing so. We’ve worked hard with Desi Dolls to create a teddy bear that kids will love – and more importantly, one that will help teach them how to pray in a fun, accessible way.
You can bend Penny into all the different prayer positions, so your little ones can follow all the positions for Salah along with their new favourite toy. If you squeeze Penny’s left ear, you will hear the Adhaan (Call to Prayer), and if you squeeze Penny’s right ear, you’ll hear a fun mix of greetings and Surahs; from Salaam to Surah Ikhlas.
Penny also comes with a prayer mat, mini prayer guide and downloadable Islamic app for kids, to help children understand more about salah (prayer), play Islamic games for kids and know what to say when they pray. Penny is the perfect Eid gift for the budding little Hafiz in your life – you can buy yours now for only £29.99!
But the most amazing thing about Penny the Bear isn’t all the things it can do and all the Islamic games for kids to play with him (although those things are pretty amazing!) – it’s that 100% of the profits from Penny the Prayer Bear will go towards helping orphans get all the love, support and education they deserve through our OrphanKind programmes.
We’ll also be gifting Penny the Prayer Bear to orphans around the world – you can help us spread smiles with Penny by buying a Prayer Bear for an orphaned child here and opening up a world of faith and Islamic games for these kids!
Many recent scientific studies have showcased the benefits of learning through unstructured play and guided play or ‘scaffolding’. When we were developing Penny the Prayer Bear, we had this knowledge in mind. Parents can use Penny the Prayer Bear to help children understand how to pray through playing, and with all of the added extras like the Prayer Guide and Free App that come with Penny the Bear, they can decide how structured they want this to be – from free play, moving the bear into different positions and pressing the ears to create easy Islamic games for kids, to guided play, using the guides to help kids follow Salah in a fun way.
As a confidently Muslim charity, we at Penny Appeal know that all blessings come from Allah, and that learning to pray is one of the pillars of Islam. We want to instil and encourage a strong faith in all children, so that they can grow up with a deep love for Allah (swt), and become the world-changers that they are destined to be.
