More than 70 lives have been lost and many reported missing as violent riots and looting continue to
rage through South Africa. What initially started out as protests has turned into deadly riots resulting in a shortage of food and medication, along with extreme damages to supply chains.

The Current Situation
Many families, especially mothers and children, are in urgent need of food and medication as pharmacies have also been looted and burnt down. Hundreds of families are currently living in fear of starvation as it is unclear how long this unrest will last.

Penny Appeal are on the ground providing food and cash distributions to communities that have been most affected. £50 can help provide food for an entire family for one month and £120 can support an entire family for one month, providing them with safety, shelter, food and medication.
