World Record Breakers
Penny Appeal have broken the Guinness World Record for the longest live televised charity appeal, which now stands at a fantastic 182 consecutive hours following our live TV charity telethon.
The record was broken at 5am on Friday, 25th July 2014, and smashes the previous record, which stood for 13 years. The live 24/7 appeal was televised on British Muslim TV, Sky channel 860 and took place during the last 10 days of Ramadan 2014.
All funds raised during the World Record Charity Appeal will go on to tackle poverty issues worldwide and will be used to feed the poor, build life saving wells, sponsor orphans, restore sight to people with avoidable blindness and provide emergency aid to those affected by the Syria and Gaza crises.
The live appeals have featured special guests, renowned scholars, feedback on Penny Appeal’s projects overseas, and live reports from the field.
Our World Record Charity Appeal came at no better time as the people of Gaza are in desperate need of emergency food and medical aid.
With your generous donations, we can still help vulnerable families living in extreme poverty.
