Woman of the Year! Our CEO is Nominated for an Asian Achievers Award
In our continuously evolving world, women are becoming a driving force for change, redefining leadership, and making a significant impact across various industries.
Our CEO, Ridwana Wallace-Laher is a prime example and is making her own mark on a historically male dominated industry – the major Muslim charity sector. As the first ever woman to hold such a prestigious role in a UK Muslim charity, Ridwana has made history which has been recognised by the Asian Achievers Awards. A nomination for ‘Woman of the Year’ is yet another huge achievement on Ridwana’s list. She joins fellow nominees and inspirational women Dr Lalitha Iyer, CMO of NHS Frimley, Rukshana Kapasi, Director of Health at Barnardo’s, and founders of Salt Ventures, Saloni Bhojwani, and Samira Ann Qassim.
With a goal of proudly recognising the outstanding contributions of South Asians, the Asian Achievers Awards is preparing for its 21st year of recognising excellence in politics, business, and civil society. Such a nomination not only recognises and celebrates Ridwana’s remarkable leadership but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring leaders worldwide. Describing the nomination as ‘humbling’ and ‘an honour,’ Ridwana says a big thank you to the Asian Achievers Awards. It is clear that Ridwana is breaking barriers for women in the charity industry as well as successfully inspiring the next generation of female CEOs.
Ridwana’s advocacy for women’s empowerment and her ability to lead with resilience and compassion make her a true role model for aspiring leaders in the charity sector and beyond. As we celebrate her achievements, let us also be reminded of the power each individual holds to create a positive impact on the world. Join us in wishing Ridwana a big orange good luck for the awards ceremony which takes place on Friday 15th September 2023.
