£10,000 - Target reached to aid survivors of pakistan floods
We've done it! Thanks to the support and generosity of donors, Penny Appeal has reached its target of £10,000 for its Pakistan Floods Emergency Appeal.
Over 1600 died and whole communities were devastated in the worst floods to hit Pakistan in over 80 years, when heavy monsoon rains caused rivers to burst their banks leaving millions homeless and in desperate need of food aid.
The funds will pay for emergency food and water supplies in the affected areas, providing essentials such as wheat, oil, sugar, tea, salt and bottled water.
Adeem Younis, Chairman of Penny Appeal, commented: "We are delighted to have reached our target for this appeal. Even now, two months after the disaster happened, there is so much more that needs to be done in these areas of Pakistan in terms of providing emergency supplies and helping survivors to rebuild their lives.
"Your generous donations of pennies and pounds are being spent to help the Pakistan flood victims. Your support has helped PennyAppeal.org to purchase over 32 tonnes of emergency food supplies that will go to feed over 7,000 displaced people. I would like to thank all our supporters for their kind donations.
"Please continue with your donations and support for PennyAppeal.org. As you can see we are working hard to make sure that you donations reach the poorest and most needy. Please, please continue with your generous donations."
