Penny Appeal Appoints Harris Iqbal as Interim CEO
Penny Appeal is pleased to announce the appointment of Harris Iqbal as their Interim CEO.
Harris has held the portfolio of Director Global Programmes at Penny Appeal for several years where he specialised in strategically managing complex partnerships and a diverse workforce in order to fulfil Penny Appeal’s mandate of providing both developmental and life-saving aid to those most vulnerable across the world.
He has been a key part of the Senior Leadership Team driving the organisations phenomenal growth to date.
Harris’s expertise in the charitable and public sector extends to over a decade, and, at just 30 years of age, he is the youngest CEO of a multimillion-pound international charity in the Muslim sector.
Under his tenure as Director Global Programmes, Penny Appeal was successful in applying for its first UK Aid Match grant by the Department for International Development (DFID), while growing its presence in 40 plus countries that includes an upward profile of activities within the UK. Its turnover this year exceeds an amazing £30 million.
