Palestinian Dates sell out as support heads to Palestine
Penny Appeal would like to thank our supporters for their tremendous support after our Palestinian Dates sell out for the second year in a row.
Although Penny Appeal cannot take any more orders for Palestinian Dates, customers are reminded that Ajwa Dates from Medina are still available in our online shop.
Last year was the first time Penny Appeal had ever offered Palestinian Dates and they received an amazing response, selling out in a matter of weeks.
This year we ordered a much larger shipment, but we simply couldn’t keep up with demand as online orders reached unprecedented levels.
Here’s the story of their journey from Jericho:
The success of Penny Appeal’s Palestinian Dates means that traditional Palestinian farmers will benefit from enough income to comfortably support their families until the next harvest.
It also means help is on the way to Penny Appeal’s other Palestinian projects which continue to make a life-changing difference to ordinary Palestinian people.
Penny Appeal teams supply medical items, help rebuild schools and hospitals and run a mobile water tanker which delivers clean, fresh water to Palestinian schools every day.
Every pack of dates you buy helps the people of Palestine and their popularity means we can help more people than ever, so thank you to everyone who played their part!
The huge popularity of eating dates to break one’s fast began when The Prophet (saw) was reported to have said:
“When one of you is fasting, he should break his fast with dates; but if he cannot get any, then (he should break his fast) with water, for water is purifying.”
High in sugar, fibre, minerals and vitamin C, dates are easily digested and a quick source of energy and nutrients.
If you’d like to join in the tradition and help Palestine and her people, you can still purchase Penny Appeal’s Ajwa Dates from the Holy City of Medina, but only while stocks last.
