Help for Haiti Tops £12,000
Generous donors have helped Penny Appeal raise over £12,000 for our 'Haiti Earthquake Appeal'.
The devastation caused in Haiti by a major earthquake in January this year, measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale, killed over 200,000 people and left more than a million people homeless.
Penny Appeal Chairman, Adeem Younis, commented: "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the public to what is the first emergency appeal run by Penny Appeal. Rebuilding Haiti will be a long, slow process and the country will need ongoing help from supporters.
"We hope that the funds collected by Penny Appeal can go some way to making a difference after the initial wave of funding has reached Haiti, and we are very grateful to our many donors."
