Did Boris Johnson cancel Eid?
After months of lockdown, many of our plans were thrown in the air at the last minute due to lockdowns announced by the Government. This week Penny Appeal has been featured extensively across the media with our CEO, Harris Iqbal, reflecting on the bittersweet twists and turns Eid has taken this year.
On the evening of Eid, Harris spoke on LBC Radio to Rachel Johnson, the Prime Minister's sister, discussing the impact the new lockdown restrictions would have on Muslim communities in particular.
Earlier that day, Harris also spoke on Sky News, comparing the last minute Eid-eve lockdowns to like shutting down Christmas just a few hours before the festivities began.
Finally, Harris spoke on BBC Radio Five Live channeling the fears and frustrations of Muslim communities who have been exemplary in not only staying safe but also serving those most vulnerable during these exceptionally trying times.
Hope you've enjoyed these features. Please be sure to share them far and wide and let us know thoughts too!
