CHARITY CHAMPION TAKES TO THE AIRWAVES

Charity Champion, Naeem Raza, will be at the helm as Penny Appeal takes to the airwaves on Sunday 14th August. From noon until iftar (the fast-breaking meal at sunset), Penny Appeal will take over Unity FM, Birmingham’s local Muslim radio station.

Tune in to 93.5FM where Naeem Raza will host Penny Appeal’s Ramadhan radio show, discussing a range of topics and raising money for the charity’s Ramadhan Appeal.

The Ramadhan Appeal is an umbrella for six worthy, yet different causes:

• the giving of Zakat (obligatory charity)
• Feed the Fasting - the provision of a Ramadan food pack to help the poor and needy break their fast
• Build a Home – providing permanent homes to survivors of the 2010 Pakistan floods
• Sponsor an Orphan Appeal - providing education to help orphaned children develop the skills they need to make positive changes in their lives and break free from poverty
• Clean Water Appeal – funding the provision of safe, clean drinking water to some of the world’s poorest people
• Eid Gift – ensuring an orphan receives an Eid gift and can celebrate Eid with a smile
