Aqiqa
Penny Appeal Aqiqa
Welcome your child to the world and give thanks to Allah (SWT) by donating your Aqiqa today.
Masha’Allah, congratulations on the birth of your baby boy or girl!
What is Aqiqa?
“Aqiqa is the child’s rescue from Satan and protection for his efforts for the good of his life Hereafter.” (Faid al-Qadir)
Aqiqa is a way to express your gratitude to Allah (SWT) for the blessing of your beautiful baby, through the sacrifice of a goat or sheep. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) himself used to perform Aqiqa after the birth of a newborn, to protect the baby and give thanks.
Traditionally, the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) is that one animal is sacrificed upon the birth of a baby girl, and two animals are sacrificed for the birth of a baby boy.
Why should you do your Aqiqa with Penny Appeal?
We take your Aqiqa sacrifice seriously at Penny Appeal. Just as we do with your Qurbani, we only source and sacrifice the healthiest animals for your Aqiqa, and we follow strict halal guidelines.
Each Aqiqa sacrifice will take place 5-7 working days after you donate, and the meat will go towards providing nutritious meals to those in desperate need across Africa and Asia. A girls’ Aqiqa sacrifice will provide 57 meals to the poor, whilst Aqiqa for a boy will provide 114 meals.
Penny Appeal are guaranteed to deliver meals with Aqiqa meat to those in hard-to-reach areas who are grappling with poverty, which means that your blessings will be shared and multiplied.
We always do our best to meet your requests!
Penny Appeal will endeavour to use your gift as requested, wherever possible. If for any reason we cannot use your donation as you have indicated, we will use it to fund similar projects in other countries or other projects in the relevant country. Penny Appeal’s strategic overview and on the ground experience means it is in the best position to decide how to meet need as it arises.
