The Qur’an tells us:  "And do not think of those who are killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision."  (Surah Aali Imran 3:169)  These were not deaths, they were eternal triumphs. 

Imagine this: knowing the sword awaits you at sunrise, yet spending the night in prayer-bowing, prostrating, and whispering the words of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى.

He grew into a towering figure-both in appearance and in spirit. His dignified presence earned him the title Qamar Bani Hashim-the Moon of the Hashemites. His mastery in horseback riding gave him the title Sayyid al-Fursān (Chief of Horsemen)..

Hurr’s life reminds us that it doesn’t matter how far you’ve gone, what matters is where you choose to stand when truth becomes clear. “Indeed, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:1)

Zakat redistributes wealth in a just and fair way. It provides a safety net for the vulnerable and helps reduce social and economic inequality.

If it wasn’t for the political activism and resilience (despite bearing such heart-breaking tragedies) of Hazrat Zainab (رضي الله عنها), we would’ve not received the light of Imam Hussain’s (رضي الله عنه) in our hearts today.

What kind of world allows the grandson of the Mercy to Mankind (ﷺ) to stand alone, parched under the scorching sun, offering his blood as the price for Truth? And then, we are left to ask: what would we have done had we stood in the dust of Karbala?
