#TeamOrange runners go 13 miles for refugees
A team of 75 runners hit the streets of Coventry on Sunday 28th February to take on a half marathon in aid of refugees.
The #TeamOrange volunteers, including star of The Apprentice Mergim Butaja, raised over £43,944, which will go towards our Refugee Emergency campaign to provide things such as food, clothing and hygiene items for those fleeing conflict.
The #TeamOrange volunteer family also hosted a special Cheer Station at mile 12, giving runners a bit of extra encouragement for the final mile.
Haroon Mota, Midlands Fundraising Manager and #TeamOrange running coach, said: “I’m so proud of everyone! It was a really tough challenge, but every single person gave it their all.”
If you want to do something active to raise funds for people in need then join #TeamOrange for the Walk for Water challenge on 2nd April. We’ll be trekking up Mount Snowdon to build wells in Pakistan.
