Help us celebrate World Water Day 2018!

Pedal for Africa is a charity bike ride challenge: an epic one-day cycling fundraiser in aid of Thirst Relief, building deep water wells in Africa that transform the lives of water-scarce communities.

#TeamOrange is partnering up with the Riders of Shaam and Ladypool Cycles to organise this special one-off Penny Appeal challenge on Saturday, 21 April 2018.

Interested? Great! To take part, simply:

Step 1: Download and read the welcome pack

Step 2: Click register to complete the sign-up form

Step 3: Await confirmation of your place from the team

Step 4: Pay the £45 registration fee (please do not pay this until we have confirmed your place)

Step 5: Set up your JustGiving webpage, and link it to our team’s page here

Please note, this bike ride is for experienced cyclists only where both teams will cover a distance of 160 miles; in just one day!

Two groups of cyclists will embark on the journey, one starting from Birmingham, and one from Leicester. The two teams will meet in Stratford-upon-Avon for lunch before heading off to our ultimate destination – the Welsh capital of Cardiff.

The bike ride will take place the one month after World Water Day 2018, which is celebrated by charities and fundraisers across the globe on Thursday, 22 March.

All you have to do is raise a minimum of £350 in sponsorship by setting up a JustGiving webpage and you can join the Penny Appeal Pedal for Africa bike ride challenge on 17 March. All funds raised go to our Thirst Relief campaign, providing safe and sustainable sources of water for people living in poverty in Africa.

Dirty water kills

Three children die every minute from diseases associated with contaminated water. It is at the heart of a daily crisis faced by millions of Africa’s most vulnerable families.

This is literally your opportunity to change lives – by providing a reliable source of fresh water to a rural village community in Africa you’ll solve a number of problems in one fell swoop by raisings funds to help build a Solar Panel Water and Power Centre, a purpose-built project that provides water and electricity to entire communities.
