This year, 100,000 people will be taking part in the London Marathon on October 3rd 2021 – with 50,000 of those runners being virtual! You can join the race from the comfort of home, crossing your virtual finish line within 24 hours after completing this legendary 26.2 mile race.
You can walk, run or jog at your own pace and choose a route that’s best for you! This year, you don’t need to be in London to experience the Virgin Money London Marathon, all you need to do is sign up for a FREE virtual spot in the race.
Join Team Orange at the starting line to make every step you take count, raising funds to build wells throughout Asia and Africa with our Thirst Relief appeal. You can run the Virtual London Marathon this year, so that families in the developing world don’t have to walk miles to collect their drinking water.

Every racer that signs up for a charity place in the Virtual London Marathon with Penny Appeal will receive an individual racing number before the event and upon completion of the marathon, will receive the coveted London Marathon finisher medal and a T-shirt to celebrate this massive achievement.

Race for Clean Water with Penny Appeal
When you sign up to virtually race with Penny Appeal, you’ll have the full support of Team Orange behind you. From the start of training to race day, we’ll be right there cheering you on and supporting you on your fundraising journey.
Once your charity spot for the Virtual London Marathon is secured, you’ll be asked to raise a minimum of £150 for our Thirst Relief appeal. The money you raise for race day will fund the construction of a deep well for a community in need. Your well will provide impoverished families with fresh, clean water for years to come – now that’s something to be proud of!
