Responsibilities:-

 

  • Ensure all pledges and gifts to Penny Appeal are processed and receipted accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Pro-actively follow leads and identify opportunities with external organisations to enhance pledges.
  • Manage the daily work associated with the processing of all pledges.
  • Work directly with all departments to ensure that pledge management policies and procedures are developed and adhered to.
  • Create, manage, develop and maintain accurate master data.
  • Ensure pledge collection is integrated with systems across Penny Appeal.
  • Develop and run reports on the status of all pledges on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis for SLT/SMT to review in a timely manner.
  • Develop and run reports to review the data integrity of pledges such as those without schedules and ensures that the necessary corrections are made on an ongoing and regular basis.
  • Develop and run various reports for reviewing the data integrity of pledges and ensures necessary corrections to the data are completed where discrepancies are found.
  • To work closely with all departments to identify financial and program evaluation reporting requirements and to communicate to them relevant procedures relating to the processing of pledges.
  • Assist in the design and development of specifications, systems, processes, reports, etc and testing/verifying pledge data to ensure that integration with departmental processes is accurate and in adherence to financial guidelines.

Donor Relations Advisor - Evening Shifts

  • Manage social media team to ensure marketing activities focusing on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Flikr, LinkedIn, YouTube and others as appropriate.

Role overview:

The Head of Events will strategically and operationally prepare, manage and deliver the organisations events and tours programme within the UK on behalf and co-ordinate multi departmental working to ensure well-managed, effective, and efficient events with the primary purpose of fundraising for the charity’s core programmes.

In order to fulfil the demands of this post, you will need to work flexibly in response to event requirements. Early starts will be required during tours, and evening / weekend work where necessary. There is also a requirement to be present at most of the events, which includes overnight stays away from home on occasions.

As the lead individual in the organisation for events and tours, you will have primary responsibility in the delivery and executing of Penny Appeal events. You will also line manage a team of Event Managers and Support Officers.

  • Leading the Events department and its relative workstreams.
  • Project managing and executing high profile tours and campaigns.
  • Planning and delivering an events calendar that avoids.
  • Produce event business cases as well as budget preparation, management and reporting.

Programmes Manager

Responsible to: Head of Programmes

Role overview:


The Programmes Manager has the responsibility for supporting Headquarter operations, promoting quality, learning and ensuring effective delivery of projects and programmes in compliance with internationally recognised standards and donor expectations. 

 

You are expected to support the growth for global programmes rooted in our identity as a Muslim led organisation, built around a set of global priorities and adopting appropriate ways of working, including through effective partnering with a range of actors (including national civil society organisations).

 

You will champion our work and programmatic priorities internally and with external actors ensuring effective co-ordination between field offices, programming in the UK and partner organisations. You must effectively represent and advocate our work with key external stakeholders particularly engaging donors, but also international civil society peers and UK/international faith based networks.

1.1.    Support the quality and timely delivery of programmes in particular our humanitarian offer inclusive of individual donor reporting working closely with the Head of Programmes.

Role overview:

The Regional Programme Coordinator (RPC) is responsible for coordinating international project-related operations. Assessing, organising and delivering specific projects as directed. The RPC will manage and ensure that the projects and programmes are generating the desired results and will provide feedback to donors and other stakeholders where requested.

 

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Research and support the planning, development and implementation of projects in various locations.
  • Maintain direct contact with PA partners on the planning, implementation and progress of projects on regular basis.
  • Develop and issue requests for partnership using Grant guidelines.
  • Ensure effective due diligence is carried out with all documentation from prospective partners, to make certain all are correct and fit for their intended purpose.
  • Research and prepare proposals and summaries with recommendations for appropriate action.
  • Monitor and evaluate the ongoing projects to ensure that the department is meeting the objectives as required.
  • Coordinate meetings between PA partners and stakeholders.
  • Work with the Senior Programme Officer to ensure that any current/future projects are sufficiently funded and transactions are on time.
  • Verify budgets, invoices and financial liquidation reports to ensure that money is being spent according to the approved operational plan.
  • Review the budget and communicate any changes where needed.
  • Prepare MoU and funding agreements as and when required.
  • Represent Penny Appeal as and where needed.

 

 

General:

  • Timely response to specific questions of donors.
  • Preparing feedback reports for donors and other stakeholders within appropriate timeframe.
  • Attend internal department meetings and coordinate with other departments as and when required.
  • Requires regular attendance at least 5 days per week. Must be available to work outside normal office hours or on the weekends as required.
  • The role is mainly office-based, however the candidate must be able to travel as required (minimum 25%) in both the UK and developing countries where these projects are being undertaken to gain a better understanding.
  • Whilst performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high security risks and/or very basic living conditions and outside weather conditions, as well is to infectious diseases.

 

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • 2+ years of experience of relevant work, including international posting(s)
  • Ability to demonstrate responsibility and competency of programme development, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Grant management, evaluation and monitoring skills.
  • Experience in report and proposal writing.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Leadership, networking and relations management skills.
  • High level of computer literacy, use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Be versed with current International standards and best practices for INGOs/humanitarian relief and development agencies.

  • To support the Partnerships Manager with the development, collaboration and nurturing of partnerships with 3rd Parties to benefit Penny Appeal.
  • To maintain accurate records, documents, etc. as required.
  • To follow up leads developed by the Partnership Manager.
